With a few hours remaining, I took the metro up to the top of the Castle hill for one last look around, and to walk back to the hotel to get my luggage. The final three pictures are from that trip/walk. The random looking house at the end of the alleyway was the home of both Tycho Brahe (sp??) and Johannes Kempler, two of the greatest physicists of all time. Sorry, the engineer in me coming out.
Some final thoughts on Prague before I leave. The city is absolutely beautiful! It is very easy to get around, and most of the people speak English, which was helpful. I loved the area around the Jewish Quarter and the bend on the Vltava river. The buildings were very nice. On the down side, Prague is very, very expensive now. It was all that I could do to stay within my budget. To give you an example. This is not an exaggeration. Ounce for ounce, US Dollar to Czech crown, I can drink Pilsner Urquell cheaper at the 3 Crow bar in East Nashville than in any bar I went to in Prague, which is about 45 km from the brewery. Whereas Nashville is over 4,000 miles away. Food is expensive. I paid about 35% more for a meal here, than anywhere else that I have been in Europe, and all of those countries are on the Euro, which is much stronger than the Czech Crown.
Now, it is on to France. I can't wait to visit her again!
