Days 5 thru 7 - Chilling in the foothills of the French Alps.

Bonjour Madames and Monsieurs:

After a 16 hours train ride that took me from Prague to Dresden, Germany, to Liepzig, Germany, to Frankfurt, Germany, to Basel, Switzerland, to Mullouse, France, and finally to Besancon, France, I am in the foothills of the French Alps. The countryside is in bloom, and the village that I am in is very quaint. I have been doing nothing but eating, sleeping, reading, drinking espressos and champagne in cafes, and that is about it. After three days, I remember how much I love this country and the food here. The French course that I took has helped tremendously. While I don't have command of the language, I can definitely get around a cafe, or ticket counter.

Tomorrow morning I leave for the City of Lights, Paris. I can't wait!

To give you a feel of how quaint this village is, I have attached photos of my hotel and its courtyard.

Au revoir,

Scot
